Room no1Ontario House, Bed & Breakfast Salthill, is owned and run by Anne & John Markland. Our home is situated in the seaside resort of Salthill, overlooking Galway Bay. We are a five minute walk from the centre of Salthill and within walking distance of Galway City Centre. Our B&B Accommodation in Galway

All of our bed & breakfast rooms are ensuite and we can accommodate families also. All rooms are equipped with multi channel televisions and hairdryers. Ironing facilities  are available upon request. Checkin 13:00-19:00. On arrival you will receive a key for your bedroom and the front door allowing you to come and go as you please ... Our Location - Salthill Galway

Our B&B is in an excellent location on the west of Ireland, we are located in the seaside town of Salthill. Salthill is just one mile from Galway City centre, magnificently sited on Ireland's wildest river, the River Corrib, around which the city has been built. Nearby attractions such as The Burren and Connemara & the Aran Islands make Galway City the perfect base for exploring the west of Ireland.

We can book your tours for: 1. Cliffs of Moher & the Burren  2. Connemara & Cong and 3. Aran Islands and Cliffs Of Moher Cruise. These tours will pick you up at our front door. You can have an extra sleepin, no need to take a bus or taxi into town.

The Great Galway Bike Ride is set to transform Galway on the final Sunday of Galway Bike Week. Organisers expect that 1,500 cyclists from all over the country will pedal their way through the city and outlying areas. The cycle routes include the 30k Bearna Loop, the 60k Spiddal Block , the 100k Shan route and the more challenging 125k Gran Shan which will take cyclists through the spectacular Connemara landscape.

Winner: Galway

“It has to be Galway,” you told us. And so it proved.

Last year, Dingle took pride of place among your favourite home holiday destinations. But for 2018, the west has won, with Galway banking almost double the votes of any other place.

“There’s something about that city,” you said. “The moment I get off the bus, I get this buzz. I've yet to have one bad out night there.”

You hailed Galway’s “great energy” as “a perfect blend between traditional Ireland and modern society”, and called it Ireland’s “culture capital”.

The city is “young, vibrant and distinctly Irish,” readers added, with “heart-warming hustle and bustle” that is “always welcoming at different times of the year.”
